Fork & Kin ("we," "us") runs a family recipe cookbook service at https://forkandkin.com. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Account information. When you register, we store your username, email address, and a hashed password. We do not store your plain-text password.

Recipe content. You may add recipe titles, ingredients, instructions, categories, notes, and photos. If you join a shared cookbook, other invited members can see content in that cookbook according to the app's permissions.

Usage data. We may log basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security, debugging, and to keep the service running. Session cookies keep you signed in.

Payments. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive billing-related identifiers from Stripe (for example, customer and subscription status) but we do not receive or store your full card number on our servers.

Feedback. If you submit feedback on the site, we store the text you send and associate it with your account when you are logged in.

We do not sell your recipe content or personal information to third parties for their marketing.

We share data only as needed to run the service:

• Other users you invite can view and edit recipes in cookbooks you share with them.
• Service providers such as hosting, email (if used), and Stripe, under contracts that limit their use of your data.
• Legal requirements if we must comply with law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

We keep your account and recipe data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data (where applicable), we will remove or anonymize personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep certain records for legal, tax, or security reasons.

Backups may retain deleted data for a limited period before they are overwritten.

We use reasonable technical measures (such as HTTPS, password hashing, and access controls) to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security; use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials private.

You can update recipe content and account details from the app when logged in. You can cancel a paid subscription through the billing portal. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data; contact us at the email below to make a request.

The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
